Fuel tank size for controllers 5 & 6 cannot be set, an error message appears

When you try to set the tank capacity for controllers 5 & 6 in the “Car Tuning” dialogue, you will notice that the sliders are greyed out. When you try to operate them, the message “Unfortunately, setting the fuel tank size for controllers 5 and 6 via SmartRace does not currently work due to a bug in the firmware of the Carrera Control Unit.“

This bug in the Control Unit firmware has been present for quite some time (at least since firmware 5336). Up to version 3.15 of SmartRace, the controllers could still be used, albeit without any effect – the values were not taken over by the Control Unit due to the aforementioned error.

Unfortunately, the firmware cannot be influenced by SmartRace. So this bug has to be fixed by Carrera by updating the firmware, until then the controllers remain greyed out.

You can still set the tank volume for controllers 5 and 6 normally via the control unit (according to the control unit instructions).
